The Scottish Event Campus
The SEC, formerly the SECC, sits on the Clyde in central Glasgow. The SEC Centre offers five interconnected exhibition and event halls totalling over 22,000 square metres, alongside the Foster + Partners-designed SEC Armadillo auditorium seating around 3,000 and the 13,000-capacity OVO Hydro arena.
The five halls are clear-span, ranging up to the 10,065 square metre Hall 4, with Hall 3 offering black-box multi-purpose space. Clear-span matters more than the headline floor area for a stand designer: with no columns interrupting the floor, sightlines and layout are genuinely open, which suits island stands and large open-plan builds that would be compromised by pillars.
Because the campus mixes trade shows, conferences and major live entertainment on one site, briefs vary widely and so do the access conditions. A concert in the Hydro on your build-up day changes the traffic picture, so confirm your build-up and breakdown windows with the organiser in writing rather than assuming a standard slot.
We do not currently hold a fair listing for Glasgow, so this page covers the city and venue rather than a calendar.
The local build trade
We list one stand builder headquartered in Glasgow, Absolute Design & Build Glasgow. It does not yet carry our Verified badge, which means we have not completed a public-register check on it rather than that anything is known against it.
For a Scottish stand, a local contractor avoids a long haul from England, which is a genuine cost factor at this distance. If you widen the search, we also list builders in Manchester, Birmingham and London, though transport and crew accommodation should then be itemised in the quote.
